Health and Wellbeing Activities
Our health and wellbeing activitiese are all about discovering yourself, having fun, finding a passion and getting some structure back into life. We also all know regular physical activity is known to provide a greater sense of wellbeing and lowers rates of depression/anxiety which can trigger relapse - 73% of our ARC users stated ARC activities improved their wellbeing.
We run a timetable of activities that changes from month-to-month and has someonething on at least 6-days per week, including some weekends and evenings. All activities have been identified through consultation with ARC users and have included:
- Upcycling groups
- Urban and country walks
- Theatre trips to see the latests shows at the Crucible and Lyceum
- Digital media
- 5-aside football
- Day Trips to places like York Christmas Market, Yorkshire Sculpture Park or Whitby
- Creative writing or arts/crafts
- And lots, lots more.....
We also love to put on alcohol-free events – from mini-music festivals to Christmas parties, to really get that sense of 'better than well' and enjoying life without alcohol as a back-drop
